Passive - kullanımı

Nesne ile ilgi,lendiğimizde ya da olaya kimin sebep olduğunu bilmediğimizde pasif cümle kurarız.

Örnek: Appointments are required in such cases.

Aktif cümlenin nesnesini kullanarak pasif cümle yaparız.

to be + past participle

Aktif cümle nasıl pasif cümle olur

- Aktif cümlenin nesnesi pasif cümlenin öznesi olur.

- Aktif cümlenin öznesi pasif cümlenin nesnesi olur ya da kullanılmaz.

Active: Peter builds a house.

Passive: A house is built by Peter.

Simple Past Peter built a house. A house was built by Peter.

Present Perfect Peter has built a house. A house has been built by Peter.

Past Perfect Peter had built a house. A house had been built by Peter.

will-future Peter will build a house. A house will be built by Peter.

going to-future Peter is going to build a house in summer. A house is going to be built in summer by Peter.

1) Personal Passive

Aktif cümlenin nesnesi pasif cümlenin öznesi olur

Active voice:

The professor explained the students the exercise.

The professor explained the exercise to the students.

Passive voice:

The students were explained the exercise.

The exercise was explained to the students.

Bazen de özne yerine "they" "ıt" kullanılabilir.

Passive voice:

They were explained the exercise.

It was explained to the students.

Genellikle özneyi "by" ile ekleriz.

2) Impersonal Passive - It is said ...

Bu kalıbı genellikle haber verirken kullanırız.

Passive sentence -

It is said that children are afraid of ghosts.

Passive sentence -

Children are said to be afraid of ghosts.

Doğru aktif cümle şöyle olabilir.

Active sentence: People say that children are afraid of ghosts.

Pasif de edatlar ile beraber kullanılan fiiller.

Aktif cümlede fiilden sonra bir edat varsa bu pasiften sonrada yer alır.
